Okay, so I was very excited to get my hands on Lap of Luxury because I needed to know what happens to Bethany and that demon, Damir. Plus, I was really curious to see how Hale was going to make us like Damir, because, let’s be honest, he was absolutely awful in Come to Daddy.

I was not disappointed. I’m not going to say I love a good redemption story, because while I do, this wasn’t one of them. Damir is who he is, and he won’t be apologetic about it. However, you learn to understand him and he isn’t as awful as you think. Plus, he knows exactly what Bethany needs and wants, even if she’s too afraid to admit her desires to herself.

I loved Bethany and her tenacity and sass and resolution to be a final girl in this story. I admired her for what she did and how she did it. Plus, I like that she embraced what she was at first ashamed of. Girl, your man likes it exactly how you do too.

Overall I enjoyed the book even though I was curious as to how I was going to like the dark aspects of it. And I did. I’ve been a fan of Hale’s dark or taboo romances for a while now.

There’s nothing Brianna Hale likes more than a large, stern alpha male with a super-protective and caring streak, and when she’s not writing about them she can usually be found with a book, a cocktail, planning her next trip to a beautiful location or attending the theatre.
