Welcome Back to Fangirl Friday!
This week’s Fangirl Friday is Book Boyfriend!
If I’m being honest I have too many book boyfriends to count. Seriously. There are some mega dreamy leading guys out there in the book universe. But the two book boyfriends I’ve been in love with lately are Matthais from Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo and Hector from the Fire and Thorns series by Rae Carson. These dudes are mega swoony.
Matthias – Six of Crows
Okay, so my lovely Matthias. I’ve gotta admit, at first I was like um, dang. He’s er, aggressive? Then I got to know his character and his struggles with his feelings for Nina, their past, and his future. I loved everything about Six of Crows but the UST between Matthias and Nina was palpable. I just wanted him to get over it all and just grab her and kiss her. But beneath all the bluster, he has an incredible heart and there were many scenes towards the end of the book that had me grinning and holding my book close to my heart. Maybe tearing up a little. But he is definitely book boyfriend material. Plus, he’s tall and hot. HELLOOOOO SWOON.
Favorite Matthias quote:
“Jer molle pe oonet. Enel mörd je nej afva trohem verretn.” I have been made to protect you. Only in death will I be kept from this oath.
Hector – Fire and Thorns series
Now, for my baby Hector. You first meet Hector in The Girl of Fire and Thorns. I have to say, I loved him. Even with the weird mustache. But let’s thank God it’s gone in book two. But seriously. Hector is ultimate book boyfriend material. He’s protective, steadfast, and most importantly he is completely devoted to Elisa and who she is. I just really loved his character. I love how he interacted with Elisa, how he protects her, how he loves her, and how he treats people around him. I just really love Hector, y’all. He gets better and better in each book.
Favorite Hector quote:
“It would destroy me to have you just a little”
If you haven’t read either of these you should! Go meet some dreamy book boyfriends!
