Hello, it’s me…
Hi y’all.
I am happy to report that I did not, in fact, fall off the face of the Earth. However, it has been a long time since I’ve last posted. I can give you a ton of excuses but I won’t. I let life get in the way and I just let my blog fall to the side, but I have a lot of news and be prepared for a bunch of new posts coming your way!
First, I’ll get to business. If you haven’t heard by now then here it is: my adventure in Scotland has come to an end. Long story short, I was extremely dissatisfied with the program, combined with some family things going on, I decided to withdraw from the program and return home. It was a hard decision to make- aka lots of teary calls to my mama and dad, pros and cons lists, and more chats with family- but I did decide to come home.
Now that the business is over here’s the fun stuff!
I’m going to be posting a few posts in the next week or so to wrap things up, so be on the lookout! Then Dreaming of Alba will become primarily a book blog, but don’t worry, if I do anything exciting I’ll post about it!
However, until then I’m going to post some pictures from Halloween to Christmas in Scotland!
Guy Fawkes night was pretty cool. I would think it’s like the UK equivalent to the Fourth of July (just not as awesome- ha!). I was amazed at how many people were packed onto the Glasgow Green. It was certainly a fun experience. Fun fact- Guy Fawkes night is actually on November 5th, but they celebrated it on November 4th this year because it clashed with a Celtic’s game. They sure love their football there. And by football I mean soccer.
November was fairly slow, aside from Edinburgh’s Christmas Market and the Friendsgiving I had with my friends! Oh! It did snow though!
The market was absolutely incredible. It made me love Edinburgh even more! Plus, the waffles? SO GOOD. I may’ve enjoyed mine too much…
I was lucky enough not to be alone during Thanksgiving, even though I left the day after to come home, and we had a real feast y’all. Our Friendsgiving took place at Zizzi’s!
We even had dessert. What’s Thanksgiving without desert??
Now, I won’t keep posting pictures of my food but just know it was delicious.
I’ll add the other few pictures I managed to take below, but the really good stuff is coming on my holiday post! I went back for two weeks and took a wee holiday and went around Scotland and Ireland. Let me tell y’all. It. Is. Stunning.
That’s all I have for now, but I’ll see you soon!
Slàinte, darling.
